This year, we are proudly celebrating 15 years of GPS, a transformative navigation technology that has redefined orthopedic surgery by putting real-time, data-driven insights directly into the surgeon’s hands.

Known as France’s “Silicon Valley of Orthopedics,” Grenoble, a region now ranked among the world’s top DeepTech ecosystems, has provided the perfect environment for GPS to evolve—rich in talent, research partnerships, and tech-forward thinking. Grenoble is not only the birthplace of GPS, but even earlier—in the 1990s—it was one of the few places where Surgical Navigation first emerged, giving rise to numerous world-first procedures.

“Grenoble isn’t just where GPS was developed—it’s where the future of surgical technology continues to be imagined,” said Anthony Boyer, President of Blue Ortho. “Its ecosystem enables the kind of rapid innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration that defines the GPS platform.”

From its first surgery in 2010 to adoption in over 20 countries today, GPS has become more than a navigation system—it’s a model for how MedTech can be accessible, intelligent, and globally impactful. Our decision to eliminate capital costs, combined with ongoing AI and data integration, reflects a bold, surgeon-first philosophy grounded in both clinical insight and forward-thinking leadership.

As we mark 15 years, we’re not just celebrating the past—we’re reaffirming our commitment to building the future of orthopedic care. One driven by data, enabled by collaboration, and inspired by the innovation ecosystem of Grenoble.
