Pericardium is a tissue routinely used in medical procedures such as dura replacement in cranial surgery, glaucoma implant surgery and tracheal reconstruction. Pericardium may be used in dental procedures where resorbable barrier membranes are currently used. Pericardium is supplied freeze-dried and is available in individual packages, which can be stored at room temperature. Its ease of handling allows flexibility and adaptability to the surgical site. It is both biocompatible and bioresorble, with no post-operative removal required.
