GAINESVILLE, Fla. – March 8, 2010 -- Exactech Inc. (Nasdaq: EXAC), a developer and producer of bone and joint restoration products for hip, knee, shoulder, spine and biologic materials, today announced its schedule of upcoming investor events.

Exactech will meet with and present to investment financial analysts on March 9, 2010 at the Canaccord Adams Musculoskeletal Conference to be held in New Orleans directly preceding the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting. The investor conference includes companies in orthopaedics, biologics, imaging, robotic surgery and regenerative tissue. Exactech President David Petty will deliver his presentation to the financial community at 11:40 AM, which will also be available via audio webcast at http://www.hawkassociates.com/profile/exac.cfm.

Exactech will then host three days of investor and financial analyst meetings at the company’s technical exhibit showcasing new product offerings and demonstrations for orthopaedic surgeons during the AAOS Annual Meeting in New Orleans March 10-12, 2010.

Key new products and featured demonstrations will include:

  • Knee: Introduction of the next generation of Exactech’s flagship knee system, the Optetrak Logic® with an efficient, bone-preserving posterior stabilized technique; Optetrak CR Slope®, an advanced technique and implant system that preserves the posterior cruciate ligament; and Low Profile Instrumentation system with new tibial and patellar offerings.
  • Hip: Additions to the Novation® comprehensive hip system including low-demand press fit and cemented stems using a ‘quick-kit’ shared core instruments. Novation Element® was recently added to offer a tapered wedge stem, supported by instruments that enable the direct anterior approach technique.
  • Extremity: Equinoxe® Platform Fracture Stem, recently FDA-cleared and the latest addition to the Equinoxe product family of primary and reverse shoulder stems. Compatible with Equinoxe® Reverse components, giving surgeons the intra-operative flexibility to perform a hemi-arthroplasty or reverse total shoulder. Exactech is currently conducting clinical evaluations of the fracture stem, with full launch targeted for the second half of 2010.
  • Biologic: Exactech enters the sports medicine market with the introduction of Accelerate® PRP Sport™, which allows clinicians to collect a small amount of the patient’s blood and process it in the office to concentrate the platelets. Once harvested, these concentrated platelets are injected into the injured area. These concentrated platelets contain powerful growth factors that can jumpstart the healing of injured tendons and ligaments by stimulating tissue repair and regeneration.
  • Revision: Expansion of InterSpace® pre-formed temporary spacers with gentamicin that maintain joint space and allow for assisted mobility during treatment of two-stage septic revision surgery. New High Release design in hip, knee and shoulder forms features increased porosity and greater surface area allowing greater antimicrobial activity than other treatment options.
  • Spine: Improved new HydraLok® Polyaxial Pedicle Screw System for spine reconstruction

Throughout the three day AAOS Technical Exhibit, orthopaedic surgeons and other technical experts will be available to discuss design rationales and clinical outcomes associated with Exactech products.
