GAINESVILLE, Fla. – February 14, 2011 -- Exactech, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXAC), a developer and
producer of bone and joint restoration products for hip, knee, shoulder, spine
and biologic materials, today announced its schedule of upcoming investor
events.
Exactech President David Petty will present at the 2011
Canaccord Genuity 6th Annual Musculoskeletal Conference on Tuesday, February 15,
2011 in San Diego, California at 1:20 p.m. Pacific Time. The investor conference
includes companies in orthopaedics, biologics, regenerative medicine, wound
care, dental, ENT, imaging, robotic surgery and tissue sculpting. Exactech’s
presentation to investors will also be available via audio webcast at http://www.hawkassociates.com/profile/exac.cfm.
Exactech will then host investor and financial analyst meetings at the
company’s technical exhibit showcasing new product offerings and demonstrations
for orthopaedic surgeons during the American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting in San Diego, February 16-18,
2011. Exactech will launch a number of new products, present clinical results
and provide hands-on exposure to new instrumentation at its AAOS exhibit.
New products include:
Knee
• A full U. S.
market launch and a limited international rollout of the Optetrak Logic® PS, the
next evolution of Exactech’s flagship knee system. Optetrak Logic® PS features a
bone sparing Hi-Flex® design, net compression molded polyethylene, new tibial
tray options and an expanded product scope, including half sizes.
• A
new modular tray system for the company’s Low Profile Instrumentation (LPI®)
instrumentation, which improves operating room efficiency while allowing
surgeons to customize instruments available for each case. Surgeons and
scientists will be available to present design rationales and share clinical
results with the Optetrak® family of knee systems, including the new Optetrak CR
Slope® PCL referencing system and technique.
Hip
• The
addition of BIOLOX® delta ceramic femoral heads, a high-demand bearing surface
that combines the next generation of ceramic head with Connexion GXL®
crosslinked polyethylene, for a growing, more active patient population.
• Expansions to the Novation® Comprehensive Hip System featuring smaller
cups and larger stems to enable surgeons to more closely match a patient’s
anatomy.
Extremity
• The Equinoxe® Fx Plate -- the
latest addition to Exactech’s fast-growing Equinoxe® Platform Shoulder System.
The locking plate provides multiple configurations of blades and screws to
address a myriad of classifications of proximal humerus fractures. The contoured
design also allows suture placement and void filler deployment after the plate
is secured. The fracture plate builds on the platform nature of the Equinoxe®
shoulder system, which enables surgeons to convert from either a primary or
fracture stem to a reverse shoulder without stem removal. A number of surgeons
will be available to share their experience.
Spine
•
New systems and instrumentation that address minimally invasive spinal surgery
technology, interbody fusion and secure fixation of the thoracolumbar spine
while improving surgeon speed and ease-of-use.
Biologics
• An expansion of the Optecure® product line
to include 2cc and 20cc options. The 20cc is geared specifically for spinal
application, offering Exactech a competitive advantage in the spine industry.
Surgeons will be on hand to discuss novel techniques for application of cellular
therapy for sports medicine-related injuries, using Exactech’s Accelerate® PRP
Sport concentrating system.
Bone Cement
• A full market
launch of the company’s pre-formed InterSpace® High Release antibiotic bone
cement spacers for two stage revision hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty.
Exactech President David Petty said, “The steady flow of new and
improved products and methods from Exactech are providing surgeons with
significant enhancements that enable them to deliver the best possible outcomes
to their patients. We expect new product development characterized by our long
development pipeline will continue to drive our company’s growth and our
continuing ability to capture valuable market share.”
