The direct anterior approach for primary total hip arthroplasty has the potential to reduce muscle dissection as compared to other approaches. Potential advantages to THA through the direct anterior approach include enhanced short-term recovery for patients and reduced risk of dislocation. Because this technique positions the patient in the supine position, specially-designed instrumentation and operating tables facilitate the procedure. Exactech offers surgeons a unique opportunity to learn the direct anterior approach from an experienced faculty in a personalized, small group cadaver lab. Participants will become familiar with the surgical technique using instrumentation specifically designed for the direct anterior approach: Novation® A+ Instrumentation and a specialized arthroplasty table.
